Sometimes I feel like I'm losing myself.

I hear my voice over the intercom and I don't even know if that's me.

I've fallen into a TV show I can't escape.

None of this is right.

None of this is real.

Everyone here knows eachother, has history and shared experiences.

I'm on the outside.

That's normal. But I know none of the things+people they refer to.

That isn't normal.

More countries mark Guy Fawkes Day than Thanksgiving, but it's the latter that dictates the online culture of the English-speaking world.

My bones ache for the mountains. My blood screams for the sea. My heart longs for the songs the wind sings below forty degrees south.

I'm the fattest I've ever been, my right shoulder started the random stabbing pains of accumulated scar tissue tonight.

I'm so tired of being interrogated and mocked for my accent.

18months, not a single fucking day without an Accent Comment.

I honestly never thought I'd miss the Bogan jokes. Tonight I actually wanted one, because it would mean the person making it shared knowledge of my culture.

"Princess Moana" is supposed to represent the multifaceted entirety of Pacifica, so is it Tiana or Pocahontas who stands for all  50ish pseudo-countries that make up the USA?

Yesterday I got to share memories face-to-face with someone about pre-earthquake Chch and I nearly cried. Shared experiences and shared grief. I hope he was able to take heart from the green wharenui built before the ruins. I wanted to show him photos I took on my last trip there, for my Emigration Physical, but there wasn't time. Hyde Park still looks good.

I have two days off in a row. I shouldn't waste them,
